About me

I have worked full-time for a company as a Contract Site Manager that supports the development and delivery of training activities and complex exercises in support of the Canadian Army. Prior to that, I served for over thirty years in the Canadian Armed Forces, retiring as a Lieutenant-Colonel. I have decades of practical experience in the areas of public speaking, EQ skills development, motivational speaking and coaching and mentoring. Importantly, I want to share my skills, experience and passion for these subjects with you. Why you ask? Because I have discovered an important thing about myself:
one of my greatest passions is to help others succeed.

In addition to this, I have decades of volunteer experience working in not-for-profit community organizations. I have had articles published in journals, research papers and texts on one of my areas of expertise, “the comprehensive approach”, an approach the seeks to bring disparate actors and agencies together to solve complex problems in crisis zones. I have been an active member of Toastmasters for over ten years, I call Downtown Kingston Toastmasters my home-club and recently completed the highest educational level of Toastmasters International, ‘Distinguished Toastmaster’, or ‘DTM’. I have planned and facilitated workshops and seminars on a wide variety of topics and I am a regular lecturer at the Canadian Army’s Peace Support Training Centre in Kingston, Ontario. I live in Kingston with my long-suffering and infinitely patient wife of over thirty years, Juanita.
